MERCHANTS TO ENJOY 'BUG BUSTING' BONANZA?
Dunlop Adhesives announces extension of Microban® antibacterial range and launch of supporting marketing campaign

Merchants across the UK could be about to cash in on the latest bug busting efforts of Dunlop Adhesives. Recognising that the trade and homeowners alike are increasingly looking for value-adding tiling materials, the pioneering manufacturer of tile adhesives, grouts and finishing products has just announced plans to boost the success of its already highly popular range of products with Microban® antibacterial protection.

This range - which is ideal for humid environments like bathrooms or for food preparation areas like kitchens - is specially formulated with in-built Microban protection which inhibits the growth of bacteria such as Listeria, Salmonella, E. coli and those that cause black mould and mildew. The products available already include a number of grouts, a sealant and an innovative grout revitalising product known as Cleen-A-Grout, but Dunlop Adhesives is complementing this with a brand new grout in an Ivory colour.

Not content to stop there, the manufacturer is also taking additional steps to help merchants push the extended range. New packaging is being introduced for all grout products which features a cartoon celebrity, Professor Dunlop, and that places greater emphasis on the Microban® brand – one of the world’s best known symbols of antibacterial protection thanks to its use in everything from baby products to food storage containers.

All new Point-of-Sale is also being rolled out along with supporting advertising, direct mail and a targeted PR campaign.

Speaking of the drive on products with Microban protection, Debi Bailey, Brand Manager at Dunlop Adhesives, said: “In warm, humid environments like bathrooms and kitchens, bacteria can flourish and highlighting this, we’ve probably all encountered problems with black mould or mildew in our bathroom at some point.

“Rigorous and regular cleaning can go so far in keeping the germs responsible at bay, but the Dunlop Adhesives Microban range can complement this. Its continuous antibacterial action can restrict the spread of microbes, which if left unchecked, can double in number every 20 minutes.

In simple terms, that means it can be used to create grout and sealant surfaces which stay cleaner for longer, making it incredibly popular with homeowners - and a great way for tradesmen to demonstrate their attention to detail and belief in delivering the best service.”
